Pumpkin Walk

This deserves it's own post since it takes up my WHOLE October!

This is the 3rd year the 5th Grade at Ellis Elementary has done a scene at the Pumpkin Walk. This has been a great tradition! Every year I go absolutely crazy trying to decide what scene we are going to do, what our background is going to be, figuring out how many pumpkins we will use then trying to organize the students and actually assemble the scene. It's a ton of work! But every year we tell ourselves it's worth it... after the scene is up of course. :)

This year the theme was "Now a word from our sponsors...". We stretched it a little and made our own commercial for Logan City School District. Their theme is "Read to Me" so we made lots of reading signs and had our 3 most famous people from the District and Ellis (Superintendent Garett, Principal Sue Sorenson, and our Secretary Susan Jaggi) read to our students. We recorded their readings and our students singing Reading Rainbow and put in on a CD that played at the scene. Then set up the scene with our 3 celebs reading to pumpkin students. This year we were lazy and used a scene already made by some other artist (a cute pumpkin bus).

Our students went on a field trip on Tuesday to see their scene. The poor children saw their signs blown away and their scene all covered in snow from the storm on Monday night. It really was cute all the other days though.
See for your self!

That person in the red is suppose to be me. Can you see the resemblence?

You're amazing! I'm seriously so impressed by you! Where did you find the time to put that together? Ellis is lucky to have you!

We didn't make it to the walk this year. That is a huge project but I'm sure the kids love it! I absolutely love Cache in your header photo!
